The RF2K-S is a legal limit solid state amplifier covering 160m - 6m with dual LDMOS in the output.
I've owned this amplifier since new and am selling following an equipment upgrade.
German designed and manufactured; controlled by an on-board Raspberry Pi which can be accessed through the front touch-display or over LAN or WAN (with suitable network routing) using VNC viewer. On your PC or laptop, VNC Viewer can be scaled down to minimise screen utilisation.
Remote on/off of the amplifier can be achieved by applying 12v to an RCA connector on the rear of the amp.
The unit receives CAT data from the radio either over Ethernet (UDP packets from radios such as the Flex 6000/8000 series) or via USB, connected to the radio's USB or RS-232 output.
If no CAT control is available, a 'universal' option will sniff the RF to determine the frequency.
An onboard ATU is provided with a fast tune capability through the front touch-screen or remotely. ATU settings are remembered.
When switched off, the amp operates in 'straight-thru' mode.
Although there is only one TX input socket , 4 antenna sockets are provided. Remote antenna switches are supported too, and each antenna socket can have up to 16 tuning positions - e.g. if you have a 6 way antenna switch on ANT-1 output, you can tell the amp which antenna is currently selected through the read panel 'Multi-Function socket', thus ensuring the correct ATU tuning is in place for that antenna.
The latest firmware is loaded; firmware upgrades are very easy through the control menu.
I recently measured the power out into a dummy load, it is as follows:
Band Pwr Out (W) In (W)
160 1300 37
80 1500 40
40 1500 40
30 1500 34
20 1400 50
17 1500 37
15 1500 40
12 1500 40
10 1500 45
6 1200 50
Note that input SWR to the amp from the radio is a little high on 6m but easily matched with the radio's ATU.
The unit is in excellent condition. I am located near Shrewsbury and would prefer the buyer to inspect and collect, or I can arrange to meet within reason.
The pictures below show the actual unit for sale (those are specs of dust on the lid, not scratches)
Asking price is £3,600 ono.
