2016-October: DXFC trip to Latvia and Lithuania with G3SXW, G8DX and K4UEE

This was a short visit to a couple of countries that none of us had visited previously, the idea being to sample some local beers and get on the air, at least for a few QSOs each to 'tick the box'. We flew to Riga, Latvia (RIX) with Air Baltic from London Gatwick (LGW). In Riga we stayed at an airport hotel, strung a wire out of a window and made a few QSOs each. The next day we had a tour of Riga by a local guide and after stopping for a second night, we took a car and driver to Šiauliai in Lithuania, where we stopped over for a night and again got on the air for a few QSOs each. After three nights away, we headed back to Riga for the journey home - mission accomplished. Of course, the trip also involves a lot of eating, drinking and fun!

On the way to Gatwick, we stopped off for lunch. (L-R) Roger G3SXW, Jack G8DX, John G4IRN

We were soon on the air from the airport hotel - YL/G4IRN

We took a tour of Riga that included a tram ride.
