SSB Field Day

13 Oct 2019: The Radio GaGa Contest Group collects the RSGB's NFD Shield for winning the UK & CD Low Power Unassisted Portable station in National Field Day 2019.

I don't have Field Day pictures from every year I've participated but here are the ones I have. Back in my teens (late 70's, early 80's) I did a few VHF Field Days with the South Manchester Radio Club and got the taste for contest operating and operating outdoors. When I got back into the hobby in 2001, the Echelford Amateur Radio Society in Surrey gave me the opportunity to get involved again and we won Low Power (QRP) section with Dennis G3KKQ and me operating in 2002 and me operating alone in 2003, both as G3UES/p.

The Echelford team developed to myself, Stan G0KBL, David G4ERW and Tony G0OPB (later G2NF) but in 2008 we split off from Echelford and formed the Radio GaGa Contest Group. We have operated as M0IRN/p, G4IRN/p, G2NF/p and more recently as G4GA/p.

The core team now consists of myself (G4IRN), Tony G2NF (ex. G0OPB), Mike G3WPH, David G4ERW and up until 2017 Stan G0KBL. The results and photo links below are all for CW National Field Day except where indicated.
